Chromebook Agreement Form 2023-2024
To accept a Plumas Unified School District ChromeBook and charging cord, I acknowledge the following:
I will abide by the policies of the Plumas Unified School District as well as abide by all local, state, and federal laws. I understand that the Chromebook is the property of Plumas Unified School District and is provided as part of my educational tool set. School personnel may request access to the device anytime, and I, the user, should assume no privacy.
I understand that I am responsible for the care of this device. I will take the necessary precautions to keep the device in good condition. I will not attempt to repair the Chromebook or take it somewhere else to be repaired. I will report any problems that I encounter and submit it to the Technology Department for review and repair, if needed. I accept responsibility up to and including the cost of replacing the Chromebook if the device is lost, damaged, or stolen. I agree to return the Chromebook to the district when requested and/or upon my withdrawal or completion from the Adult Education program.
I will not let anyone other than myself use the device and will not share my username and/or passwords with anyone.
I understand that any files saved under my account will be for the purpose of school-related activities. I acknowledge that Plumas Unified School District provides Internet filtering for inappropriate materials and content on the device and that downloading programs is not allowed. I will charge the Chromebook battery nightly and bring the device when asked to do so. I agree that social networking or any other electronic communication should be used only for appropriate, legitimate, and responsible communication. I will immediately notify a teacher or school official if receiving an email containing inappropriate or abusive language, or if the subject matter is questionable. I will keep the device in a secure location when not in use and locked up when possible.
I agree not to hold the district or any district staff responsible for the failure of any technology protection measures, violations of copy-right restrictions, or user mistakes or negligence. I also agree to indemnify and hold harmless the district and district personnel for any damages or costs incurred.
